No idea, I don't watch it. Although if they were I expect it to be more fun on Paul's show than The One Show

    On the low side?

Perhaps since it got 8million on Tuesday, although it look relatively healthy when you look at Corrie's rating on Wednesday.

It will be interesting to see what the share is

From There to Here is a three parter, and why is it niche?

It was a good rating for a niche drama. It'll plug the gap between now and the World cup fine. Thrashed itv by two to one and lead bbc1 to yet another 9pm win. Job done.

Niche? I wouldn't call it that...

And suddenly a one-off drama getting 4.5m is great, when before it was skimmed over because it was one-off.

    It's a three-parter.

I still expected it to be over 7m. Also it was a 7.30pm start with some bad weather around.

Yes the share is what I want to see. Thursday looked low generally for TV.

EastEnders was Thursday's most-watched soap (May 22) as another big Carter family secret was revealed, overnight figures show.

6.76m (34.5%) tuned in at 7.30pm on BBC One as Phil realised that Mick is Shirley's son. BBC Three's repeat screening continued to perform well with 523k (3.6%) at 10.30pm.

    Emmerdale attracted 5.83m (31.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 229k (1.1%) on +1 as Charity's scheming continued.

Holby City's rescheduled episode interested 4.18m (20.3%) at 8pm on BBC One, the show's lowest audience of the year so far.

Hollyoaks interested 895k (5.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Sinead exposed Freddie and Lindsey's secret, while E4's first look also had 895k (4.9%) with the aftermath at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Josh's collapse in Neighbours was seen by 651k (10.1%) at 1.45pm and 803k (6.2%) at 5.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.33m (20.9%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.

Really? If Peter Bowker isn't a niche writer then I don't know who is. His last 3 piece for BBC one was Occupation about the Iraq war. It had even lower ratings. I would say 4.5m is pretty impressive for a drama which is mainly looking at the social history of Manchester over the last 2 decades.

The writer was even on the Today Show on R4 discussing it. It was hardly Death in Paradise:kitty:
For once Samuel is entirely correct in his use of niche.

They were on the Wednesday hour long show.

Both were excellent and it worked really well with plenty of time to reminisce and still fit in the 'features' that sometimes make the 30min show seem rushed.

So EastEnders is holding in the mid-30s, and no Friday episode to drag down the week this time. The BBC Three screening remained high by recent standards with 523k.

Wow, your level of awareness is practically psychic.

Decent figure for EastEnders in my view when looking at the 35% share/rest of the night!

Thanks. :) Do you have shares for Question Time and Pointless please?

On the night of last year's local elections, Question Time had 2.93m (25.4%) so a good result last night for the show.

Terrible figure for News at When
BBC Breakfast continues to hold the extra 100,000 viewers it has gained since GMB started
Very good for Question Time (and Holby not bad either)

Thanks for the comprehensive round up Bushmills! How is BBC1 daytime doing in comparison to ITV?

And do you have Wednesday's Breakfast/GMB ratings?

DS notes that 4.18m (20.3%) is the lowest audience this year for Holby, but I agree it's a decent figure for a out-of-slot episode.

I wouldn't have said Peter Bowker was necessarily a niche writer - and BBC One should not be commissioning niche drama at all - but I do get the sense that TPTB at both the BBC and ITV have lost track of what popular drama is, and that's why the genre is struggling so badly.

Funny you should say that about Breakfast as I have Tuesday's ratings here.

    BBC Breakfast - 1.59m/37.4%
    Good Morning Britain - 0.59m/14.5%

Breakfast doing better since GMB started. GMB generating web hits with news but not ratings.

Holby City having one of its lowest ratings in weeks. Was the Thursday move promoted? Pound Shop Wars did better.

Can someone let George S know re GMB as he thinks it's now the news leader:D

The ITV breakfast situation hasn't improved at all since the launch of GMB in fact it seems to have handed some viewers to the BBC (or have they come from Sky ?)
