"Can the Tories be the answer?"

    Asks the Labour leader.

Who is expecting 'YES' from the Labour audience?

I went to a NUS conference in Blackpool in the 90s when Stephen Twigg was President. It was mostly a long drinking session.

That sounds similar to my image of a mid-2000's Lib Dem conference.

I'm on my own. What is Ed going to do about that?

That's me reaching for the remote. Tax cuts for millionaires and Osborne off to Europe to protect Bankers bonuses (bonuses Ed is relying on continuing so he can tax them btw) borrux has done for me.

If I was in that conference hall he'd be the one on his bloody own - talking to himself. I'd be in the bar

I thought that Balls' speech was dull but it was scintillating compared with this.

The audience behind the Leader thing just doesn't work. It is too staged.

Balls also had some specific policy points. This is just words.

I agree. Balls' presentational skills are much improved.

Probably thinking "I wish I could sneak out to the bar but I don't want to be caught on camera."

One final final point. Has Ed basically just said that opposition leaders have plenty of time on there hands what with his "joke" about angry birds and tennis?

If that's the case what possible excuse has he got for such a crap speech and having no transparent detailed policies to hand?

Probably thinking along the lines of "getting £30 to sit through this crap sounded like an OK deal 40 minutes ago"

Equal Rights for the self-employed? What does that actually mean? Would you be forced to pay yourself the NMW, forced to pay into a pension, forced to comply with the working time directive?
