Last year was supposed to be the start of a more serious approach. This just falls into the hands of the casual watcher

I can't understand why they didn't showcase the song on The Voice.

"And now, representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, someone who wasn't good enough for this show...!"

Well I am a bit surprised from what I've read here!

    I rather liked it!!!

It was different, quirky, uptempo, and will stand out I think! I love that style of music and thought it was a great twist on an old style. Yes its not radio 1 fodder, but that ain't a bad thing!

I found myself tapping along, and the tune is in my head!

My housemate who is a non-eurofan, says it is defo more memorable than last year as its different to anything she has heard in eurovision before!

    I liked it! :D

Someone really should have put "This makes Festival da Cancao sound AMAZING" on the bingo card.

    Perhaps they were too good.

I don't know what Freeman was thinking. Retro is fine but not for this type of 1920s swing effort......it almost sounds like a pastiche or parody.

    I agree.

Going with a retro concept is a great idea (just look at Estonia) but this just comes off as a half-hearted attempt.

It sounds like a cheap jingle from a radio advert that's trying to be 'cute and quirky and retro'.

if the license fee renewal happens during a Tory government then it certainly could as the Tory supporting media will have a fairly large influence and Eurovision will be one of their big targets as it would be a easy target and away to criticise Europe, foreigners and immigrants all in one.
If You Gov did a poll on if Britain should withdrew 60-80% would sadly be for it.
No it really doesn't work like that.

Umm. I hate to say it, I'm so disappointed but 30 minutes later I have the 'Still in love with you' firmly imprinted into my brain.

....and we've ended up with this.

I'm starting to think Guy Freeman's remit is different this time around compared to his last spell in charge - back then the BBC wanted a strong performance and potential win. Now I have the feeling they don't want the expense of hosting it so have told him to aim for respectability first and foremost but a bad result is more desirable than victory.

Good to know your bizarre ramblings stretch beyond those of major sporting events.

World Cup 2014 to be called off due to riots anyone. :kitty:

We need to see a Shava & Simone duet, it's the only thing that can rescue this.

I was pretty much alone in disliking COTU on here last year and it's all reversed this year.

Same here. I don't like the song but it's catchy!

Sounds like something Greece might send.
