She went to the police when a guy said 'morning love' to her.
Right, but that seems like it's taken out of context. He said it while standing in her way, moving in very close to her, after she had been cat-called repeatedly for a month.
In what way is what happened anything less that sexual harassment?
As I posted last night as someone who has been harassed by females it isn't pleasant when unwanted, And when it is day after day of it it gets embarrassing and extremely effing annoying.

I put her in this category of people who frivolously waste police time:
Sadly, this lady is a product of years of mind-bending 'anti-bullying' education in our socialist school system. If anyone as much as looks at you sideways it's called bullying, and even a compliment is viewed as sexism.
Anyone should have the right to walk the street without feeling harassed but whether this lady really was harassed seems difficult to determine.
While I think going to the police over wolf whistles or the odd comment alone is absurd, if she was getting lewd comments too then I think it's less trivial than it sounds. The thing about men who do this stuff to women is that they can make even seemingly innocent comments seem dirty and unpleasant and I personally wouldn't want to feel like I was "running the gauntlet" every morning when just trying to get to work. A lot of people underestimate the potential levels of discomfort caused by what they see as "banter", I think.
I feel it might be a little too easy to write women like this lady off as being ridiculous or pathetic, at times.
Harassment is an offence. Walking to work isn't. See where this is going?
Freedom to be a complete arse stops when it adversely affects other people
Use your 'freedom of expression' to call a black man the n-word on the street. See where that gets you
If it was harassment then why wouldn't the police be involved? Because maybe saying 'morning love' or whistling isn't a police matter no matter how much you want to jail people who don't act the way you want them to?
You wanting to erode out liberties because you don't like something isn't on.
I'd rather live in a country with the heretics free to express themselves rather than one with your puritanical 'ban this sick filth' worldview. I suppose the police who dismissed this Poppy's claims were an extension of this supposed cult of 'nasty group of women haters' for daring to challenge the ridiculousness of her trivial complaints?

We are a squeeze of lemon juice away from a complete madhouse society in which anything we don't like can be a legitimate source of 'offence'.
What's the betting that if builder's ignored women completely, someone would still complain?

The police WAS involved. They reported it to the company and advised them to address it. That's involvement.
It the headlines it can appear that she complained to the police purely because if whistling.
However, reading further it reveals that some of the people were standing in her way on the pavement, blocking her path. This puts it on an all together MUCH more intimidating level and she had every right to contact the police.
What guys see as banter and a method of talking to someone they fancy, by blocking their path, is absolutely horrible. And possibly terrifying.
If you have ever had it happen to you, then you would know why she took this further.

Some things wouldn't be considered harrassment even if the person doing it every day knew that the other person didn't like it at all.
I read this story in the OP too - ridiculous, why didnt she just tell them to stop if she didnt like it? The police have much more important things to do.
Why didn't she tell them to stop if she didn't like it?!
You couldn't make it up.

Not all women have the courage to speak up when they don't like men whistling or shouting comments to them.

Any of her future claims will be under severe scrutiny given this overreaction.
You don't appear to know what Freedom Of Speech actually is. 'The right to speak without censorship or restraint by the government'
It doesn't actually apply here.

It does. If you want to jail people for what they are saying or whistling at you then what else is it an attack on but a freedom of expression?

Hilarious response from an 'adult'.

Does that mean we dont actually have freedom of expression?
You want people jailed for whistling, I mean that is ISIS or Taliban territory.
Like Charlie Hebdo? Remember Je Suis Charlie? Over a billion Muslims offended supposedly, should we stop that or ban it or jail people?
Yes, it was satire of a religion & easily avoided by not looking at the magazine. Not really the same a singling out an individual on the street.

One entitled white woman's hurt feelings are worth more than a billion Muslims. Interesting.
No we're reading a forum where a load of blokes are aggrieved that they can't get away with shite that was the norm for previous generations.
