i watched it last night, id hate that bloody carnival outside my house. that sexual assault thing was very disturbing but good showing you the perpetrators who are obviously mental unwell/disturbed rather the image we usually get which is 'drink girl in skimpy outfit poor lad couldn't possibly control himself'
Never seen the attraction of the Notting Hill Carnival - all of those crowds and noise isn't for me. I agreed with the women who said than one in a Devon village would be better.
I only caught the end of this by my goodness it was awful. You couldn't pay me enough to be a police officer or medical person stuff like that would traumatise me for life, I really don't know how they do it.
That sentence was shockingly low should have been much longer.
If your prepared to take a life you should expect to pay heavily with yours if your caught. Not
And didn't the politicians say/lie the other year that 'anybody carrying a knife would get 5 years'. I suppose life looks different if you've got round-the-clock police protection.
Here it is reported that he was given Life with a minimum of 13 years. That really wasn't made very clear last night. My husband and I both gasped at the leniency of the sentence.
I agree with the poster above, how the police and emergency staff cope with all the harrowing scenes they witness is beyond me. All credit to them.

It was disgustingly low. I believe in a life for a life.
I take my hat off to the police. They do an amazing job and this show shows what they have to do in their daily lives and then get abuse from the low life they are trying to protect us from. I have total respect for them.
I went to view this episode last night at the police college my daughter goes to with the cadets. We were invited as the police wanted our views of confidence and satisfaction of the police. What I said was that while the police were putting all their time, effort and energy targeting gangs and violent criminals, the justice system lets them down.

I'm not too keen on the police having seen how useless they were with anti social behaviour, but I do agree that when they do actually catch the people they are often let down by the CPS and courts.
You see them catch people on those Police Interceptor type shows, and then you hear later that the person only got probation or a few weeks in prison, that's if they are not let off in the first place.
England is fcucked. So much hatred for authority & divided "communities."
It's basically "I hate the police because they stop me being a criminal bastard."
Those racist policemen stopping you selling class A drugs, how dare they....
I must say, multiculturalism doesn't seem to be the Utopia which the Labour party imposed on us without the indigenous population of England being asked about a massive influx of immigrants.
As for the police telling those victims of these moped crimes that they can't chase the culprits in case they fall off 'their' mopeds & hurt themselves - >:(>:(>:(>:(>:(

They chase vehicles though so I don't understand that logic. Next stop, not chasing purse snatchers/ bag thieves in case they trip up. >:(

But they often back off if they think the driver of a vehicle might end up crashing. The ban on 'following' (they are not allowed to 'chase') mopeds has been mentioned on various police reality programmes so it must be nationwide.
Perhaps there should be a ban on mopeds in some areas?
I always remember reading an account by someone (not police) sitting at traffic lights and seeing a lady's handbag stolen as she also waited. He had a 4x4 so chased the thief up a grass bank, he touched the thief who then fell over. He stopped but the thief got up and ran off again so he went after him. This time he drove over his leg, did not get back up with a broken leg! The police would probably now spend more times charging the car driver than the scum who stole the handbag.

Abuse from low lives is a hazard of the job. It's the abuse from the rest of the public (not all of them, of course) that is the problem.
How disgusting that the woman who killed her baby got a suspended sentence. >:(:o I can't believe that they're even considering letting her have her other kids back - they should be adopted, furthermore she should be sterilised.

I thought that but I think her background probably had something to do with it. However, surely she should have been getting some support from somewhere - married at 13 and having 3 children under the age of 18. Surely alarm bells should have been ringing somewhere. I certainly hope she doesn't get the other children back she is not mature enough to look after them.

£6.2 million pounds and most of the force allocated for a three day event. >:(
His murderer only got 13 years (6 and a 1/2 years in real terms).

Yes that was way too low for what he did. He shouldn't be allowed out ever. I bet he showed no remorse at all.

This is an article from the woman who filmed Alim's last moments. It's a very emotional read.
Still not enough - what was the judge smoking ?
I'm sitting outside my sons school in tears after reading that. How horrific, the poor boy.

That needed a referendum.
