Didn't have much competition did he? Mark Stacey is possibly the most useless "expert" on bargain hunt (and that's no mean feat with James Lewis and Charles Hanson on the show!) Didn't he manage to make two losses this week???
Jonty never really left his comfort zone, apart from today. Just bought cheap furniture, mostly chairs and sold them to overly rich women contacts. It was the same everyday, Mark Stacey would be in the lead, till Jonty clinched a massive three figure deal on a chair to romp home.
you do know james lewis won antiques road trip twice?
Kate Bliss seems to be able to win every day by spending very little:)
I've not enjoyed this week very much. Kate Bliss just annoys me and just how is she getting the prices? She trips from one jeweller who says it's not worth much to another across the way who gives her hundreds!
Today she manages to get an outrageous price for the opal brooch....as my hero said I don't believe it.
The bloke irritated me too. He didn't appear to be that much into the program, putting many things into auction, letting the restorer buy the chest from him at a loss. Get out there! Sell them yourself! Or that's what I've been shouting at the TV.
Not exactly calming these antiques shows are they?
Anyone with a passing interest in antiques must know that most of it's fixed. Go to some car boot sale or flea market and then sell the junk on in the trade at 100/200% mark-up..yeah right. Why aren't they all muli-millionaires/billionaires by now ?
I can just about believe that they all have a few pet mug punters who will buy just about anything off them (particularly with a chance of being on TV) but I don't believe they could achieve those kind of profits selling in the trade.
We have just watched the last programme and are disappointed that there was not a summary of each week's winners and who had made what for their charities. I would have kept a note if I had known there was not going to be one.:(
Enjoying Charlie Ross this week - very good value as usual. Not so keen on lanky old horse face Katherine 'The Great' Higgins - hope he ends up winning at the end of the week. I'd love to see that smug expression wiped off her face.

I quite like these two I think catherine higgins is like she is cos she is a tall woman and often very tall people are very self conscious and creat a personana to protect themselves from the comments they get, and shes no where near as smug as catherine southern
I cannot stand that old mare Katherine Higgins. She is by far the most smug, cocky and arrogant 'expert' on the show, even worse than the repellent Mark Franks. And why does she walk around in those dreadful garish clothes.
The programme is awful.... the voice over is awful. Those nicknames are pathetic - and the show IMO is definitely fixed with the dealers all knowing each other and playing along.

Because she is into fashion and design darling......
I didn't know a new series of this had started yesterday, see its now got that guy on from that antiques documentary that was on before, Del Boys and Dealers.
Phil Serrell and Katherine Higgins this week, looks like shes wearing a disguise
She was horrible yesterday the lovely Phil gave her some make up and she returned the gift with three crap subuteo figures
Just watched this again the other day. Phil should have just told her to forget it and let her keep the subbuteo figures herself - Higgins made a nice little profit off those make-up items!
Actually, so far Phil is making a pretty good profit on all of his purchases whereas Higgins has generally been reliant on just one making a good profit as in the mirror and the poster which have saved her getting a good drubbing.
BTW, I thought this was a new series - not a repeat? They should let people know it's a repeat, by including (R) in the TV guide info box.
This just started again last week (Wednesday/Thursday @ 7pm), its supposed to be a new series, but im sure its a repeat, as first up is James Braxton and Kate Bliss at an auction, and James climbs into this chinese stool, and goes on about it being a dog basket, which im pretty sure ive seen before, as i remember him getting a cushion fitted, and selling it as a one.
Checked the BBC site, and even that says its a new series.

Watched him again last week and he was still hopeless:o
Yes! That's EXACTLY where he learnt his trade
I dont like him he is like a 1970s used car sales man and bumping up the price of another persons auction is cheating surely?
dunno they all seemed nice people though, well nice for antique dealers

Ahh that i didn't know, sincere apologies, wish her well for a full and speedy recovery
She done well today, only spent about £71, and made more profit than Phil.
