I don't think she will this time on balance of probability but to say she'll never be axed is frankly deluded and fanboy thinking rather than rational thinking as I think I told you before when you said she was invaluable to the show because of her private life.
I voted other for Shakil and definitely not for MySteven!
Think you could be right with this - have EE ever had a main character die from a drugs overdose? Think Kathy's daughter did but I wouldn't class her as a main character. Either way, I really hope they don't do this to Jay, Jamie Borthwick is a great actor.
I think because since she came back the writing for her has been pants. She's living with the family that tore her own family apart and sent her dad down for murder. She doesn't really bring anything to the show at the moment and is outshone by Abi.
I concur
Less of the MySteven Mr!! ;-)
I would say Abi is safer than Lauren but whilst I want Whitney to be safe my concern is her lack of family connections will count against her.... But then she's carrying Mick and Lindas first grandchild.
Shakil will go surely and I think Jay too unfortunately
I think they need to develop the younger characters as back in the day we used to follow the trials and tribulations of Mark, Mary, Sharon,Michelle, Ian, Kelvin with Nick on the periphery
Whitney because she's useless and the writers never give her anything challenging just sex stories and love drama.
I can't see EE axing Lee. He's part of a successful family that has already sustained losses. He works well within his family unit and if the writers weren't so lazy he could actually be a dynamic character.
I think Shakil is at risk, not just because I loathe him, but because the actor is atrocious. Hopefully he'll be first out the door to go and live with his father.
Bex may be at risk depending on how Horrible Sonia goes on maternity leave. Though Martin will still be around, so perhaps not.
Jay's recent arc just feels like it's leading up to an exit, which is a crying shame.
Pretty much what I was going to say. I hope they keep Jay but his storyline does seem to be leading to an exit.
Even Kush mentioned that with Carmel's new job she may move and take Shakil with her, perhaps moving down to a guest character
I like Kyle but all he does is smile, nod and cook. They've made zero effort with his character.
I think they will keep him because he ticks a box more than being as good actor or even related to the Slater's. I hope they give him better storylines though
Remember that quite a few of the younger characters (Johnny, Shakil, Louise, Lauren, Steven etc) started earlier this year and will most likely have been brought in on a 12 month contract so won't be up for axing for a good while. By then a lot will have changed with the show and their place may become more or less secure.
The only person I've voted for on that list is Jay, not because I want him to go (though I don't think he's as interesting as the adoration for him on here warrants) but because there's a sense of finality around his character arc at the moment. I do think it would be a shame for him to have gone through all this misery porn only to be shown the door but I honestly can't see things getting better for him.
I think the damage DTC has done to Jay's character definitely singles him out as someone easy to axe.
Being on the sex offenders register for 5 years and being an outcast amongst most in the square, now on drugs, I mean just where can they go now with so many negative things happening to one character in the space of just 6 months!
The only other character I can see leaving is Johnny. This new version is just not working on screen and I think most viewers feel the same way.
The other decision in any character being axed is likely down to pay. I wonder who is the highest paid amongst the younger cast and is that likely to be a factor in the decision.
Seems to me a lot of the people axed so far are high profile actors on fairly big salaries. Maybe its all part of a cost cutting measure as opposed to characters who have run their course.
Seems an apt time to bump and revisit this thread given the news on Danny Boy Hatchard and how many on here called Danny Boy's vulnerability to the axe right.

EE has done what you didn't expect and axed Lee!
Where does that leave the Carter's storyline wise as a unit with Kellies maternity leave too?

They need Shirley and maybe Tina back in the Vic. Maybe that's why they axed Buster. Oh and Mick can take on Steven as a barman and he and Johnny can get to know each other a bit better.;-)
They will keep Kyle around for the same reason they'll keep boring Donna around. The BBC are extremely politically correct and will want to controversy of axing these characters. Apologies if I offended anyone.

Nothing wrong with saying this. I said the same myself in another thread. Its the same reason non of the black characters will be axed unless they have another black character lined up to replace them. The black characters are worked out on a rota. Its so very wrong but its how the BBC operate.

I do like your latter idea, romance and frolics whilst changing the barrel :D

Paradoxically it could be argued legitimately by some that is a reason for him to axe him?

I thought you'd appreciate a man who can cook Vald! ;-):p
I'm looking for one who's happy to do it for me full-time whilst still being exceptionally easy on the eye 😘
I love cooking. I need someone who can decorate and do the garden.
Edit: I'd settle for someone with his own teeth😊
I want Sam Mitchell treatment done on Johnny.
I also think Whitney should go. Another character who feels like she's ran her course. I can't see her sticking with Lee for much longer.
:D:D

Personally, I'd keep all the youngsters except for Shakil and Rebecca.
I don't see Lee and Whitney lasting much longer either. Although personally I'd keep Lee and axe wooden Johnny.
Lauren, Abi, Ben and Louise are going nowhere.
