I've actually complained to Digital Spy about the new layout of the forums and I've said that practically 100% the posts in the different thread about the changes don't like it and can there be an official responce from Digital Spy. No one from Digital Spy has responded to all the complaints this evening.
Ian.
Is Digitaspy owned by AOL? As someone posted a few pages back, this new logo is the AOL font and full stop, but reads 'DigitalSpy' instead.
I do quite like the new logo - it gives a feeling of continuity, of something owned by a parent company. The colour scheme is horrendous, however, as there is no contrast. My first thought was that my laptop had broken.
The style switcher has WIP beside Digital Spy. I assume this means work in progress?
If so, why on earth was it put into a live environment with so many CSS issues? Every developer worth his salt knows that this is a big no no in software deployment.
I know, right?
A website revamp typically requires about 2 months with the test team before going live. This doesn't look like it's had 2 days. CSS settings all to pot (i.e. fixed width left set). No testing with differently visioned people (clearly). No testing on different tablets/OSes/Browsers/Phones.
The theme reminds me of sites i used to use years ago! To me it feels dated! Everything is hard to read as the colours are to alike. Who decided this was the right way to go then?
Dont we the users get the final say? i read on here everyday but im not going to strain my eyes just because someone thought this was a good design when its not.

Ian.
I also hate the stalkerish header. Please get rid.
I don't mind the colour, but can understand how it can hard to read.
Reply box is way too small.

That was exactly my first thought
Horrible 're-design! '
Thanks for suggesting that Bill.
I'm using the mobile version now as well (on my PC). It's much better.

On that basis I won't be surprised if the number of posts per day plummets. Neither should the site bosses
But christ I can't keep viewing it.
I'm having a massive blinding white-out! And I haven't even touched any narcotics!!!
Even though I'm on a laptop, it's much better.......the forum fits the screen and the colour contrast is a lot easier on the eye
It's very much 'no frills' though !
I have had to reduce to 95%:D
If this site doesn't improve I'm coming back in 7 days and being as sweary and abusive as I like in order to get banned.
Utter shite.
Pale blue is a bad colour to see. A darker hue would be easier.
Why all are the spaces the same? Is this why we cannot overrun this particular space?
Whoever thought this up has made a mistake.
The date Digital Spy lost its personality.
I haven't been this upset since Celebrations replaced Galaxy truffles with Twix. Another ill advised change.

Can you please sort this out ds.
which means I can't see entire posts
Can't see multi-quote button
can't see next thread page icon
Only 2 posts per screen make quick reading
very difficult
also makes posting per live showing of tv programme incredibly awkward
Colour is incredibly "bright" & "white"
Also - as someone who is colour-blind
the user data against the box background is unreadable for me
Don't like - not happy
DS are silly. As the number of mobile users rises, the glitchier the site gets on mobile devices.
Well done!
