Oreo's new advert is stupid. They've managed to equate replacing a conveniently flat tyre on a cliched, ancient family campervan with the act of breaking a fake chocolate, chemical filled "biscuit" in half to access the nasty, artificial, pumped full of sweeteners and crap "cream" filling.

You mean for something a bit less inaccurate? I don't know anyone who had ever heard of the things before seeing their advert which tried to make out that everybody's grandparents practically lived on the things since time immemorial when by all accounts they didn't appear in the UK until about 10-15 years ago.

I've not seen a recent one from them but if this latest includes another one of those disgusting biscuit-licking displays it should definitely be banned, even if they show a glass of milk on the screen allegedly for 'healthy balance', but more likely for neutralising the chemicals.

I don't have a problem with the Oreo ad but I do really really hate the Werthers one. The way that caramel chef leers at the little girl is distinctly unhealthy. David Icke would have a field day.... :o

The Renault ad where a fish escapes from its bowl and heads for the sea. The ad says "Capture life", not something a freshwater fish would do in a salt water environment.

That's one of my favourite ads at the moment! I love the song! :)

Whatumecallit Farms foods not only look unappetising but Corbett's voice makes my fillings rattle.

I expect they are deeply unappetising and very bland so that old people with tender tummies won't be upset by them. After all, they are really only the privatised version of Meals on Wheels.

As for Corbett - I can't stand him.

Sorry to all but I'm a lurker on this thread but 2 points!
    • Why is it only women who suffer from contipation?
    • Why does every ad featuring an adult male & younger child have to portray perversion? Eg. Oreo ads, werthers ad, claus ohlsen ad, the parent who takes his teenage daughter to Florida, the old guy who has a burger with a young black guy & loads more! They're only ads FGS! Is ANY older man a potential pervert? Maybe that's why grandfathers are now frightened to bath, cuddle, kiss or enjoy their grandchildren... So sad!!! Rant over.

Why on earth are confused.com making their robot out to be confused as well? Surely he is the one who is supposed to represent how to unconfuse things for people and show people the best deals so isn't it a massive own goal making out that he is confused as well?

Is it me or has that Sunlife advert with Parkinson been around for years now? They've cut bits out and super-imposed more modern gifts on the ad, but it's still the same thing. Are they going to keep using it until he's dead?!

Probably. And then he'll find he's paid in more than he gets out.

And that inflation has reduced his pay-out.

And stopping paying in will result in losing all his money.

And putting his money under a mattress would be a better option.

But hey! If multi-millionaires like Parkinson (Corbett, Goodman etc.) say it's a good way to waste your money, who am I to argue?

In the interests of fairness and balance, you do get a free Parker pen (just for enquiring) and your first month's premium is free! :(

I don't think a pen is good enough - a holiday to Tokyo should be what they offer for enquiring, makes it more worthwhile enquiring! :D

So it's now tradition to use Brian Blessed in every other advert because he has a loud voice.. now the voice of Hellmann's as well as underdog and many others.

Apologies if it's already been mentioned, but the Aldi one with the girl who likes ice cream, but only for the sticks that she's using it for a model boat.

The part that puts it into the annoying part is that it seems to be on during *every* commercial break - which, as a result, means that I've virtually memroised it word for word having only seen it for the first time yesterday.

The man's voice has a supercilious, sneering tone-"not interested?"

I'd love him to ring me up.

Him: "Would you like thousands of pounds?"
    Me: "No thankyou."
(and then wait to see him get flustrered and even more patronising)

Just saw an advert for some laundry detergent, and at the end it said "Find it in the laundry aisle" - no shit Sherlock!

Go to my local asda and you'll probably find it in the fresh fruit aisle.

Why do the people who make Vanish think we do don't know that you have to rub the stuff on a stain first before putting it in the machine?
We don't need to rub it in with the cap, either.
    It's so condescending!

I dislike the ad because of the shameless waste of ice cream! :)

All Disneyland adverts. Firstly, they assume, quite incorrectly, that going to Disneyland is the pinnacle of all that families aspire to achieve. Secondly, they make no mention of the fact that for the same price you'll pay to spend a long weekend in some crappy suburb of Paris, probably raining, you could probably take your family off to somewhere exotic and beautiful for two weeks. Overall, it's just the patronising attitude they have.

I'm a full bore Themepark enthusiast, btw.

Gambling agents trying to make their businesses out to be a aspirational lifestyle choice. Ladbrokes' cod 'Lock Stock' effort, with its lad's gang of stereotypical characters (beardy intellectual, podgy braggart) striking funky dance moves even though they've just lost all their beer money. And Super Casino, with its suited men striding out of an office building, discussing their gambling strategy like they're on a covert ops mission.

I am currently fed up of seeing those stupid and annoying oakfurniture land adverts, they seem to be on constantly every ad break and are getting progressively more stupid. The other one that I find annoying mainly because it's on constantly aswell is that ford advert advertising the fact that the car can receive text messages, I can't believe they are using that as the main selling point. Would someone really buy a car because of that feature:confused:

Most ads get on my nerves nowadays, they are so patronising and seem to be aimed at 4 yr olds (apologies to 4 yr olds!) What's with all these loan shark companies using chirpy, twee jingles to advertise their dodgy practices? ( for e.g. Sunny, Amigo etc)
Not to mention that dreadful ad where the bloke prances around happily singing about his compensation (complete with dancing binmen).
It's not endearing or cute it's idiotic.
If it's not shitty jingles it's godawful girly baby voiced covers of decent songs. It's almost like them singing an awful lullaby to top off the fact that my brain is turning to mush, due to sitting through I.Q dropping adverts that rich drugged up admen thought were absolutely hilarious.
